Live music is part of South Australia’s identity
A creative, vibrant industry that makes an important contribution to our economy.
The South Australian Government’s Live Music Events Fund was created to support live music events and festivals with the potential to grow into major tourist attractions. The Music Development Office, part of the Creative Industries team within the Department of the Premier and Cabinet, is administering the fund.
EOIs for 2026 are now closed.
The fund aims to:
- Elevate Adelaide’s recognition as a UNESCO City of Music through activating our live music events calendar
- Mitigate the financial barriers experienced by promoters in the early and growth phases of staging a new live music event
- Develop new music events in South Australia that generates economic benefit, and provide local jobs for musicians and crews
- Provide industry development opportunities or pathways that support the growth of the event into a unique offering for the state that is financially sustainable.
This funding has supported events such as:
- Good Music Month
- Space Jams
- Froth and Fury
- Handpicked, and more.
